My friend took this picture of me on her iphone after the dyke march and then sent it to me the next Monday with the following caption:
if there was only one photo to sum up gay pride
Obviously I love my friend a lot.

Kate Bush - Mother Stands for Comfort
This was the song in my head when I woke up this morning.
This song was also in my head this morning when I woke up. Or should I say it was in my ears? We listened to a lot of Kate Bush this morning.

My comment on this post pretty much says it all. I love the Crucial Minutiae blog — it’s a great model for group blogging — but nothing can top Therapy Thursdays for me.
I am extremely resistant to making changes in my life that seem like restrictions. I had a somewhat strict upbringing, and as a result I often feel like I should allow myself to do anything I want to do, anything I like. Molly’s comment on this post makes me think though. I’m not drinking for a while, and it’s making me feel pretty amazing, both physically and emotionally. I don’t have dependency issues with alcohol, but it has certainly created awkward situations for me in the past. Not so long ago, I would have felt like not drinking was a huge restriction, but now it feels like something I’ve just let go of to be better to myself.
I can’t wait to hear more from Kimmi on how this cleanse goes for her. I’ve been thinking about doing a cleanse for a while but 40 days is sorta hardcore.

I feel like I’m gearing up towards valentine’s day this week. Maybe it’s the crap-tons of hearts, sparklies, and red things showing up in my inbox every morning via Etsy finds. I thought I’d look through some old bookmarks (and new ones) to find some romantic fiber arts to show you. I have a few more up my sleeve for the next week or so.
